On Friday, we decided to go to the pool for a bit after Daddy got home from work. We've heard nightmares about how the pool gets so crowded that you can't find a chair to set your stuff in. We went at the perfect time, around 5:00, just as everyone was headed home for dinner. Once Emma got used to the water, she was in heaven. We quickly realized that we needed to get some pool toys, as there were tons of toys around the pool and she has no concept of "not yours." We got a baby floatie thing over the weekend and headed back to the pool on Monday evening. When we first tried the float, she looked up at me with a big grin and said, "FUN!" Once we got to the big part of the pool, she decided she was done with the float and wanted me to hold her instead. Maybe we'll have more luck with it next time. We did manage to remember the camera this last time, so here are a few pictures:

Here is a picture I took of Emma having her current favorite breakfast -- cereal. It's actually my cereal, but she usually ends up eating about 1/3 of the bowl, so I have learned to put a little extra in to begin with. As soon as she sees me reach for a bowl from the cabinet, she yells, "CEREAL!" Sometimes it's "YAY CEREAL!" It's pretty exciting stuff!

Speaking of things she says, Emma has been creating her own little phrases lately:
- When she is doing something that she's excited about, she says, "Emma fun! Emma fun!" Usually that's our cue to see if she has put herself in danger, because it's usually referring to something she knows she shouldn't be doing.
- If you ask her where a shoe goes, she will tell you "On da foot."
- Any time there is some sort of drama (minor injury, food spill, something not going her way, etc.), when it's all over she says, "All bedder."
- Today she was doing her usual routine of reading through the junk mail from the mailbox, and she came across an ad for a laptop computer. She pointed to it and said, "Mommy 'puter!" The funniest part is that it actually was an ad for the same laptop I have!
She will also repeat pretty much anything and everything, so we have gotten VERY careful about what we say around her. Daddy has taught her a word or two without meaning to, but nothing too bad yet.
