If we tried to take a bunch of candids of Drew lately, all you'd see is a little hand reaching for the lens -- he is super grabby and into EVERYTHING these days!  That combined with the fact that he is soveryclose to crawling, and we are in for a whole new world soon.  Time to break out all of the old babyproofing supplies...

Kitchen helper

It's been fairly unexciting at our house lately, other than each of the kids being sick for a few days.  School is going well, and Drew is starting to try some big boy food.  Surprise, surprise -- we haven't found anything he doesn't like yet.

Last Sunday, Emma and I made cookies for one of her teachers.  She loves helping in the kitchen, which makes me happy.  We laugh, pour, stir, nibble, listen to music, and dance while we cook together.  I'm so glad she enjoys spending time in the kitchen.  Can't wait till she is old enough to cook dinner for me once in awhile!

Emma was hesitant to get in the water at first, but once she got over her fears, she didn't want to get out!  She had a blast playing around in the waves with Daddy.

On Saturday, we decided to take a shorter walk and try out the pool instead. 

We had lots of fun at the condo too, in the lovely air conditioning.  (It was HOT outside!)  Emma got to show G & G some of her favorite movies, like Toy Story and Up, and Drew got lots of time to explore on the living room floor -- something that will be different the next time we go, since he has just recently started rolling everywhere.  Looks like crawling is not far off.  Our little busybody is about to get mobile -- watch out!

First Day of Kindergarten, Take 1

We are back in town from a very fun long weekend down in Florida at Grandma and Grandpa H's condo, just in time for Emma's first day of Kindergarten this morning.  So I just have one quick photo to post from this morning, and we'll be back later with pics from the beach and some more from our big girl's first day.

Since she is not five until late October, she won't be old enough to start Kindergarten at the public elementary school until next fall.  Fortunately, her current school, where she attended preschool and pre-k, also has a private kindergarten program.  So today wasn't a super-stressful day for us, since the only thing that changed was her classroom and her teacher.  I think next year's first day will be much tougher!
