Time to catch up

It's been awhile since we've posted an update -- sick kiddos and a month full of activities have taken pretty much all of our free time lately!  Thankfully everyone appears to be healthy now, and the activities haven't slowed down, but Mommy and Daddy have vacation in our sights (next week), so we can handle a hectic schedule for another few days!

Emma had "Dress Like Your Favorite Character From A Book" day a few weeks ago at school.  She wore red/white striped leggings, a white shirt, and red piggytail bows in her hair and went as Olivia.  Unfortunately, she refused to let me take a picture.  But trust me, she was adorable!

That weekend, we went to the new park near our house to check out the playground.  Emma had lots of fun running around while Daddy snapped photos.  Andrew sat in the shade and watched all of the kids playing.  He'll be out there joining them before long!
After that, we decided it was time to see how Andrew did with rice cereal.  At first, he thought it was great fun because he had the whole family standing in front of him watching -- this kid loves an audience!

Then he tasted the cereal and decided maybe this particular activity wasn't as fun as it seemed at first.
He ended up crying for his bottle after that.  I don't think he quite grasped the idea that this mushy stuff in his mouth was supposed to end up in his tummy.  I didn't try cereal again until this morning, and it went much better.

Yesterday we all got up early and went to church for Easter.  Then we had Mommy's family over for ham and all the fixings.  Turns out the Easter Bunny left baskets for the kids not only at our house, but at Grandma & Grandpa H's house, Great Grandma Gerken's place, and Great Aunt Martha and Great Uncle Don's house too!

"OTC"

We've been busy since our last update!  Two Saturdays ago, we had the Farbotkos over for dinner.  Bridget loves holding Andrew, but he's grown a bit since the last time she saw him!  He's almost as big as she is:
That didn't stop Bridget, though -- she held him for as long as we would let her.  And meanwhile, Emma got to have some fun playing with Audrey down in the playroom.

Last weekend, Emma traveled to Montgomery with Grandma & Grandpa H to attend cousin Nathan's birthday party.  I haven't seen any pictures yet, but from all accounts, everyone had a great time.  Emma was very excited to tell us about her first experience on a trampoline.  Honestly, I'm shocked she was even brave enough to get on it at all!

On this past Monday, Andrew had his 4-month checkup.  Can you believe it's been that long?  As for his stats, he was 25" long, which is 50th percentile, and 19 lbs 12 oz, which is -- as the pediatrician's office so delicately put it -- "greater than 95th percentile."  In other words, off the charts.  Which brings us to the big man's newest nickname: "OTC"
Lucky for him, it's perfectly acceptable to be a chunky monkey at his age.  And we know before too long, he'll be as skinny as his sister, running around our house like a maniac.  The pediatrician gave us the green light to start trying cereal anytime we're ready.  It will be interesting to see what he does with it!

He continues to woo the ladies with his flirty smiles.  Sometimes he even throws in a wiggle of the eyebrows, which really makes them swoon.   He had Mommy's whole office loving on him earlier this week, and the teachers in Emma's class always run over and get their Drew-fix whenever we come in the room to pick her up or drop her off.  He kept distracting the pediatrician when she was talking to me at his check-up because he kept smiling at her and cooing.  This kid knows how to work it!
