Popcorn party

Welcome to the new and improved "Emma's Adventures!" We're trying out a new look for the blog. Changed up the colors and adjusted the layout to allow for slightly larger pictures. Hope you like it.

It was damp and cold on Monday, so we stole an idea from Miss Sarah and had a popcorn party. Emma was so excited. "Oh! I love popcorn!" We both enjoyed snuggling on the couch under a warm fuzzy blanket and catching up on a few Dora episodes.

Speaking of Dora, Emma loves her Dora Backpack and wears it proudly around the house when she can figure out how to get it on the right way!Now that her hair is getting longer, we finally get to have some fun with it. I put it into braided pigtails the other day, and I couldn't believe how old it made her look!
Emma gets to spend the night with Grandma & Grandpa Hill tomorrow night, so that she can go downtown with them on Thursday morning to watch Mommy & Daddy cross the finish line at the Atlanta Half Marathon. She is super excited to cheer for us. And it's a good thing because we are going to need all the cheering we can get!

Saturday in the park

We had fantastic weather all week last week. We took advantage of it on Saturday morning and drove downtown to spend some time at Piedmont Park.
We walked past the softball fields, fed the geese at the pond, and strolled through the little farmers market. Then we hit the playground...Emma's favorite stop. She had so much fun that we got to endure a classic 3-year old temper tantrum when she realized we were leaving. Then she slept so soundly all the way home that she literally had drool running down her chin. Guess we wore her out!
As usual, Tim's got lots more pictures up on his Flickr page.
Today Daddy finished putting together Emma's new sand & water table she got for her birthday. She had a blast playing with it!

Grandma & Grandpa H are currently vacationing in Japan. In case they get to check in while they are abroad, hi G & G! Hope you are having a great trip! We are also anxiously waiting to see when Baby Kathryn will make her arrival. We are keeping you in our thoughts, Megan -- hoping for a quick & easy delivery!

The grumpy ladybug

Another Halloween has come and gone. Emma wasn't in much of a photogenic mood this year, so we have a very limited selection of cute pictures from the evening. Perhaps one of the other parents was lucky enough to sneak a smiley shot of our little ladybug!

Pre trick-or-treating group pic:
One of the few times she put up the antennae:
Tried to snag a group pic of the kids when we ran into Jackson. Darn wagon handle!Cutest kitty on the street:
Even cowboys get thirsty after a long day on the range! Not only was Emma miserable because it was cold & drizzly while we were trick-or-treating, but we found out Sunday morning that she had come down with pink eye. After visiting the doctor today, it turns out the pink eye was actually caused by an ear infection. No wonder poor Emma wasn't feeling very chipper in the cold and rain! But she's on some meds, and we are now on the road to recovery.
