Savannah weekend

Yes, the blog is long overdue for a new post. We just haven't had any new pictures to share lately. But last weekend, we traveled to Savannah to celebrate Great Grandma H's birthday, and we now have tons of new pictures to share.

We went down to the City Market area for dinner on Friday night. Emma had a great time running around while we ate on the patio at a quaint little italian restaurant. Afterwards, we blew her mind with the candy store where they make pralines and saltwater taffy right in front of you. In fact, she was so cute that the taffy guy gave her a free piece to try. She said she liked it, but she preferred her chocolate-covered marshmallows on a stick with sprinkles better...who wouldn't?
Even after all those sweets, Emma was able to find room for a small ice cream cone:
On Saturday, we spent some time at Forsyth Park. The fountain was beautiful.

There was a farmers' market going on at the park, so Emma & I took the opportunity to sample some fresh-from-scratch banana pudding pound cake. Yum!

After we saw all of the sights at the park, we headed down to River Street for lunch and another trip to the candy store. (What a great 3-year old bribery tool the candy store is!) At lunch, Emma decided that she enjoys dipping her potato chips in ketchup. I suppose it makes them a little more nutritious, right? She also tried crab for the first time at lunch. I was pretty proud of her for asking to try it, after she told me earlier that she would never eat crab because "it's gross". She tried some, and guess what? She actually likes it! And hey, if you're going to try seafood, Savannah's a great place to do it!

In the afternoon, Emma cooled off in the hotel pool with Grandma H, and then the whole entire family went out to dinner to celebrate with Great Grandma.

We had a really nice weekend, and the whole way home on Sunday, Emma kept asking if we could turn around and go back to the hotel. Guess she's been bitten by the travel bug like her parents!
