Little shepherd

The 2 year old through 2nd grade Sunday School classes at church sang a song before the late service yesterday. Emma loves Sunday School class and her teacher, so she was very excited about the upcoming performance. In fact, they made little shepherd headpieces during class (construction paper circle with a paper towel hanging down in the back) that the little ones were all supposed to wear. Apparently all of the kids refused, except our little rule-follower. (Don't know where she gets that trait from...ha ha ha...) She was so cute when they got up to the front and started singing (as if we expected anything less). The headwear gave her a little trouble during their performance, but she took it all in stride. Daddy managed to record the whole thing. I can't seem to get the Flickr video to appear here in the blog, so you can click here to see it. Trust me, it's worth a click!

We finally managed to get some pictures of the Christmas lights at night.

Dress up

Emma has been more interested in her dress-up clothes lately. She insisted on wearing her Dora Fairy Princess outfit to Big Emma's cookie decorating party last week (next door). And today, she wore her Sleeping Beauty princess gown to Audrey's princess birthday party. It was the perfect choice, as Audrey was just putting on her Ariel gown when we arrived -- complete with red wig! Niki took a few pictures of the two princesses together, so hopefully she'll post one or two that I can steal and repost. Here she is, posing at home after the party.

Musical interlude

No pictures from Thanksgiving because we were too exhausted from running 13.1 miles to remember something as difficult as taking pictures on a holiday! (ha ha) Grandpa H took a few of us after our big run, medals in hand. Hopefully he can email them to me, and hopefully they are decent enough to share -- the official photographer ones were TERRIBLE!

We also made a trip to Catch Air over the holiday weekend so that Emma could show Daddy all of her favorite things to do there. Daddy remembered the camera but unfortunately forgot that the memory card was sitting on the desk at home, so no pictures of that either. Bet he won't make that mistake twice!

In order to make up for the lack of pictures, we tried recording some video of Emma Karaoke the other night -- she has been a little songbird for the last week or so, always singing, sometimes a song we know and sometimes just little tunes she makes up all by herself. Unfortunately, we are having issues uploading the videos for your viewing enjoyment. Which is why it's taken so long to post a new blog update -- technical issues for the past 5 days! Here's the only one that would load. You can tell she enjoys watching the playback of the videos when we are done recording!

Tim loaded a few more onto his Flickr page. Click here to view those, plus a bunch of cute pictures like this one:

It's finally feeling like December around here, but that hasn't stopped Emma from wanting to play outside. The other day, in the freezing wind, she dragged Mommy & Daddy outside to ride her bike down the sidewalk. The driveway is too steep, but once she's down to the sidewalk, she's gotten pretty good at pedaling and steering all by herself.

This weekend we put up Christmas lights and our tree. Hopefully Daddy will be able to use his fancy camera to get some good pictures of the house all lit up at night. While I was busy putting lights in the bushes, Emma and Christmas Eeyore were having a tea party on the front steps. Why she would choose to play in the 43 degree weather when she can be in a perfectly comfy, warm house is beside me, but she was happy out there, chatting with Eeyore about how Christmas is almost here.
