Future's so bright

We bought Emma a new pair of sunglasses yesterday because she refuses to wear the baby ones with the elastic band...she just takes them off and chews on the elastic. Since she's been complaining when the sun is in her face in the car, we figured she might like to wear some big girl sunglasses. She was enthralled with them the entire time we drove home from the store. "Gasses! Gasses! Pink gasses!" She put them on every way except the right way, and in the process bent them all out of whack. Take in this picture because it's the only documentation we have of said sunglasses. Five minutes later, they were broken beyond repair. Whoops! Guess she wasn't quite ready for the big girl sunglasses after all!

Yesterday also brought Emma's very first skinned knee. She insisted on walking down the sidewalk at the shopping center by herself. About halfway down, she tripped and scraped both knees. One of them actually drew some blood. She cried for a minute or so, but once we went into the bathroom at Target and put a cold wet papertowel on it, she was fine. Now when she hears me talk about the incident, she proudly displays the pink area on her knee that will surely be gone in another day.

Today is Grandma K's actual birthday. They are still on their vacation, and are supposed to be white water rafting down the Snake River at this very moment. Hope you have a wonderful day, Grandma!
