Be mine

The Valentine's Day celebrations went from Friday all the way to Monday in our house.  On Friday, Emma had a pancake breakfast and Valentine's Day party at school.  The kids all exchanged valentines, and apparently we are out of touch with current valentine etiquette.  I think Emma was the only kid that brought lame-o plain old valentines -- albeit pretty mermaid ones -- to school.  Everyone else's had pencils or candy or stickers attached.  Oh well, we'll know for next year! 

On Monday morning, Emma got her Valentine's goodies from us.  It was mostly random stuff from various stores' dollar bins -- ponytail holders, activity books, pens -- but I think Emma's favorites were the kid-sized apron (for when she's helping out in the kitchen) and the Buzz Lightyear notebook.  The princess chocolates from Daddy were also a big hit.

Emma made a sweet card for Andrew at school yesterday too.  It was just a generic Valentine's card on copier paper that she colored, but when she got in the car, she declared that it was specifically for her brother.  Such a thoughtful little girl.

  

We are still happy with the new 'do.  It makes combing the tangles out so much easier in the morning!

Emma was super excited to show her new haircut to her buddy Elizabeth when we got to school yesterday.  Then Elizabeth's mom told us that she has actually been asking if she can grow her hair out so that it will be long like Emma's!
