We've had some gorgeous weather this past week, so we've been spending lots of time outdoors. Most days this means we do what Emma likes to call
chalkin', as in, "Mom, can we go chalkin' outside?" She absolutely loves sidewalk chalk. It hasn't rained in about a week, so every day we add to what we've already done. We've run out of room on the actual sidewalk at this point and have started to draw in the driveway. Of course, it also helps that every time one of the neighbor kids sees us "chalkin" outside, they come over and draw too! Here's just a small sample of our colorful sidewalk:
Emma also recently found a pet rock on one of our afternoons spent outside. His name is Rocky. She likes carrying him wherever she goes. She found rocks for Mommy & Daddy too. Mommy hasn't named hers, but Daddy's is named Jebediah. We are required to know the whereabouts of our rocks at all times, and so far we haven't lost one. Here's Emma showing off Rocky:

Just as we did all week, we spent lots of time outside today on our day off together as a family. We walked around The Avenue and read some books to Emma at Barnes & Noble and then had lunch on the patio at Little Azio.

Emma tested out her photography skills once again at lunch. Her snapshot of Daddy:

Of Mommy:

And one of herself:
Lookin' cool on the way home:
First time riding with her window down (We finally took the sunshade off for the first time since she was an infant.). Look at that hair blowing in the wind!
While going through some old clothes tonight, she rediscovered last year's Halloween costume and just HAD to wear it. It was just after bathtime, so she was running around the house in a bumblebee costume, her Cinderella undies, and nothing else!
This is how I found her, playing in her playroom:

Mom, Bridget and I were at the Avenue yesterday too! They had some good sales.
I think Emma needs a puppy or kitten so she doesn't have to carry that rock around. :)
