Hats & shoes

So Emma's latest favorite accessory is her pink baseball cap. She wants to wear it everytime she sees it. Last night, she even insisted on wearing it to bed. As with anything else, she loves to take it off and then immediately wants it back on again. Of course, she hasn't learned how to put it on yet, so it's a wonderfully fun game for mommy or daddy, whoever is nearby. The funniest part is that she likes to pull the brim way down so that you can't see her eyes. This is the way we see her most of the time lately!

The other day her hair was getting in her eyes, so I pulled the top part into a little ponytail. When she pulled it out about an hour later, this is what it looked like:

A few days ago, we found some canvas sneakers on sale for $6 at Babies R Us. Emma picked out the ones with butterflies ("fudda fies") and flowers ("farrrs") of course. This is her first pair of real, lace-up shoes. She is very proud of them whenever she has them on and constantly has to stop and look down to admire them. Just like with the other shoes and the hat, she's always wanting them off & on, off & on. Which is great fun when you have laces to tie each time. Or not.
Next Thursday, we head out for our trip to St. Louis, and Emma gets to spend a long weekend with Grandma ("garmar") and Grandpa ("gappa") H and Aunt Laura. Something tells me we will be looking for a baby-size baseball cap at the Cardinals game!

Grandma & Grandpa K are travelling through Italy this week. (Between both sets, this girl's grandparents sure get around the world, don't they!) Hopefully they are having fun and seeing lots of cool stuff that they can tell Emma all about when they come home. Travel safely, "Garmar" & "Gappa" K!
