Busy holiday weekend

We've made it through another whirlwind Memorial Day weekend. We had about 20 people over to the house on Saturday for a cookout. We got nervous when a huge storm cloud positioned itself directly over our house about 30 minutes before we were expecting our first guests. Thankfully it sent about 30 seconds of sprinkles and then blew over, leaving nothing but sunshine for the rest of the afternoon. Tim managed to snap a few shots of the crowd.

On Sunday, we went over to Grandma & Grandpa K's house for a family cookout. We forgot to bring our camera, so we don't have any pictures to post, but Emma & Alex had fun playing together and popping bubbles in the backyard. Emma has taken to coloring lately too, so she broke open the crayon box at G&G's house and made an original masterpiece. Now that I think about it, she scribbled with the pew pencils in church on Sunday morning too. This girl is becoming quite the artiste!

Today we grilled up some left over brats for lunch (boy are we sick of cookout food by now!), and then Great Grandma Emma and Cousin Megan came over to visit. Megan is in town for a few days and doesn't usually get out our way when she comes to visit, so it was nice to have her over. She and Emma had a nice time playing together. Next Sunday her little boy Nathan will be in church. We'll see what kind of trouble they can get into together, now that they are both walking!
