Pinkalicious playdate

Emma had her buddy Elizabeth over for a very special Pinkalicious playdate this weekend. For those of you who are not familiar, Pinkalicious is one of Emma's favorite books these days. Pinkalicious is a little girl who loves pink, and eats so many pink cupcakes that she actually turns pink, and then even red! (Have no fear -- a few green snacks and all was back to normal.) Emma and Elizabeth both love anything to do with Pinkalicious, so we planned our day around it. Didn't get any shots when the girls were together, but here's Emma waiting for the fun to start (aka "Mommmmm...when is she going to be here????"):

Drew waiting for the fun to start:

Pink cupcakes ala Pinkalicious, Pink Drink (her fave, of course), and some pink goodies for the girls:
And yes, Emma and I made those cupcakes ourselves!

The girls had tons of fun playing, eating, drawing, watching "Little Mermaid"...they really are two little peas in a pod!  Next time, Emma says she wants to do a Purplelicious party and invite one of their other friends from school too.  I have a feeling we are going to make our way through the rainbow!

Today we went to a 1st birthday party for a girl down the street.  There were lots of babies there, all girls, so Andrew had his pick of the ladies...just the way he likes it!  I plopped him down in the middle of them all, and he actually sat up by himself for a good while -- guess he wanted to make a good impression!

When we got home, Emma convinced Daddy to go out in the oppressively humid heat and blow some bubbles she got at the party.  Tim got some cute pics that I'm sure he'll be sharing soon on Flickr.  One sweet one to hold you over until then:

Drew is recovering from his 2nd ruptured ear drum in about three weeks.  We just can't seem to keep him healthy lately.  But he's such a smiley boy that you'd never know he was harboring the world's nastiest ear infection!  Got a new prescription for a different type of antibiotics yesterday.  Cross your fingers that this one does the trick.
