Her first day went better than we even expected. We knew she'd be fine, but I never expected that she would actually make good on that promise to not cry! Her teacher said she is a sweet girl, if a little quiet. (Not like you all didn't know that!) Her daily report card says, "Emma had a great first day in preschool. Such a pleasant girl!" Emma says she had a great time, and she can't wait to go back tomorrow. While we're updating, this past Saturday we did the annual Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation 5K/2K at Atlantic Station. Emma & Mommy walked the 2K with Emma's buddies Asher and Jonah and their mommies, while Daddy ran the 5K. Emma had the right idea...wish I could have ridden in a stroller!

While we were waiting for Daddy to run by in the middle of the race, Emma took the opportunity to snap a photo:

We crossed the finish line just in time to cheer for Daddy as he came around the final turn:

After the race, we refueled with Powerade and bananas. Emma refueled with a chocolate chip cookie.

So happy the first day of preschool went so well. Glad she enjoyed it. Emma takes better pictures than I do.
Love,
Grandma H
