We took Marta down, so Emma got to have her first real train ride. She thought it was great for about the first 5 minutes, then she was ready to get off and do something else. Fortunately, a few minutes later, we got off at our stop and set out to find the perfect spot to watch the runners go by.
Some of the first runners:

Emma was an excellent cheerleader. She shook her little clapper and yelled, "GO RUNNERS!" as the people ran by.

What a goofball!

Those of you who have been can appreciate how there are some runners in crazy costumes. Of all the silly things we saw -- Statue of Liberty, Uncle Sam, a peach, Elmo, and a trio of ballerinas to name a few -- the thing that made Emma laugh the hardest was the guy standing near us: "Ha ha, look Mom! He has a mustache!!!" Ah, three year old humor.
By the time Daddy's group came along, she had lost interest and was playing in some nearby rocks, but she quickly got back over to the curb in time to give Daddy a big high 5 as he started on his last mile towards the finish line.

Tim finshed the race with one of his best times ever. No doubt related to the fact that he didn't have a certain someone with him, slowing him down! Way to go, Daddy! We are so proud of you!
It's now about 2pm, and we are home & exhausted, resting up before heading out to G&G H's house for a cookout with Mommy's side of the family this evening. Happy 4th to all!
