5 months already?

Emma turned 5 months old on Wednesday. It's hard to believe that so much time has gone by since she was born. On the other hand, we can barely remember what life was like without her.

She discovered some new noises this week. One is some babbling that sounds alot like, "dadadadadada..." I told Tim it must mean she's calling for him. She did it for hours on end the other day, which made us realize that it will probably be many years before we experience a quiet house again. The other noise she's learned is a fake cough, which makes sense given the fact that every single kid at the babysitter's house has a cold. It's all she hears all day! Thankfully, her cold is gone. We'll take the fake cough over a real one any day.

As for another recent discovery, she has become infatuated with Oscar. Now that she is aware of her surroundings, she looks for the dog every chance she gets. He's not usually too crazy about her grubby little hands coming at him, but he seems to be getting more and more comfortable with the idea. I'm sure he will be much more friendly when she starts carrying around food! He got brave enough to join us for playtime the other day...
