Between sleepless nights, sick relatives missing the festivities, and Emma & I being sick ourselves, it was a rough holiday this year. I've never seen a kid who had to be woken up by their parents on Christmas morning -- a sure sign our little girl was under the weather. Still, she persevered and managed to open her numerous, numerous gifts on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
Tim's family came over to our house on Christmas Eve this year, so that we wouldn't have to travel across town with Andrew being so new. It's a good thing we planned it this way, since Grandma K ended up being so sick that she couldn't even make it. Emma was feeling pretty weak and slept through the first several hours, but Alex made up for her lack of enthusiasm with a double-dose on his end! He was SO excited to open presents! It reminded me of why this age is so much fun at Christmas time. (When your 4 year old isn't sick.)
A few pics from Christmas Eve:
Here's how Andrew spent most of the evening:

Andrew on Christmas Day -- at least his eyes were open for awhile!
One of Emma's favorite gifts from Santa, her new baby doll, which she named Baby Addison:

Great Grandma G got to spend some one-on-one time with Andrew:
One of Emma's favorite gifts, along with her talking Jessie doll, was the ladybug pillow pet from Aunt Laura. (Also, in the background is Andrew resting peacefully in the Moby wrap on Mommy...highly recommended for those of you with babies! He falls asleep within 30 seconds every time I put this on!)
This picture is a great demonstration of a little girl with too many presents:
We were lucky enough to have an extremely rare white Christmas this year, with big snow flakes coming down pretty much all day long. It looked so pretty! Emma had lots of fun playing in it with Daddy the next day.
An Andrew update: went to the pediatrician this week for his one month check-up. He is 22" long and weighs 10lbs 14oz, which is 75th percentile. That's exactly where Emma was at this age. percentile-wise. And based on the way he eats, I think it's safe to say in a few more months we'll have ourselves another little butterball! Other than that, Dr. Dewling says he appears to be perfect. Mommy and Daddy think he'd be just a little more perfect if he let us go more than 3 hours between feedings, especially in the middle of the night. But still, he's cute enough that we've decided we'll let him stay around for awhile.
As I type this, the snow is falling once again, very heavily. They are calling for about 4 inches in our area. Looks like it's going to be a snow day tomorrow! Maybe we'll have new pictures to post...
