Music lover

What a whirlwind Mother's Day weekend!

We dropped Emma off with Grandma & Grandpa K on Friday night, so that we could get up early and run in the Susan B. Komen 5K at Atlantic Station on Saturday morning. After running some errands on Saturday afternoon, we packed up some blankets & chairs and headed over to Woodstock for the Shawn Mullins concert at the park. Emma loves music and instruments, so she was super excited.

We arrived early to stake out a good spot. Emma had lots of fun coloring and playing in her new princess chair.
Grandma & Grandpa H joined us later. They were happy to share their ice cream with Emma. She loved Grandma's chocolate ice cream sandwich. She wasn't so sure about Grandpa's lemon italian ice though... Trying a bite
Hmm, not so sure about this
Pretty sure I don't like it.
As you can see, she didn't mind giving Grandma some more help with the chocolate ice cream!
The opening act, Heather Lutrell, playing in the gazebo:

No pictures of Shawn because it was too dark once he came out to the stage. We managed to avoid rain, even with the ominous gray clouds passing over all evening...until about 6 songs into Shawn's first set. All of a sudden, the bottom fell out of the sky, and we found ourselves getting soaked with cold rain! Grandma & Grandpa decided to call it a night, but we hung on for a few more minutes, and the rain stopped. About 2/3 of the people had left due to the rain, so the rest of us moved up to the front and enjoyed the rest of the show. It was a late night for Emma, but lots of fun!
On Sunday, we all went to church and then headed over to Grandma & Grandpa K's house for a Mother's Day lunch. We forgot the camera, as usual, but Emma had lots of fun playing golf & blowing bubbles in the backyard.
It was a lovely Mother's Day weekend for all, especially Mommy, who was surprised with a lovely new blue iPod on Sunday morning. Emma is an excellent Mother's Day gift shopper! Wonder when she made it out to the store with Daddy's credit card...
