We are back from our two-day mad dash through Disney World, exhausted but loaded up with happy memories. Why try and squeeze as much Disney as possible into just two days? We admit, in hindsight, we should have spread our visit out into four or five days to give us all some time to rest once in awhile. But given the crowds we saw arriving on Sunday of Thanksgiving week (our last day), there is no way we would have stayed longer during this particular week of the year! We definitely came home with some great notes to make our next trip there even better, but all in all, everyone had a good time.
We've decided that our kids are pretty good little travelers -- which is good, since we like to travel too. They both did GREAT on the 8+ hour drive to Orlando and back. Emma spent most of the time looking something like this:
Drew spent most of his time sleeping, but in a year or two, he'll probably look pretty much the same as Emma above. We arrived on Friday night and showed Emma the sights and sounds of Downtown Disney.
Saturday morning, we got up bright and early and faced the crowds at the Magic Kingdom. Emma's very first Disney ride, Dumbo:
After a few more kiddie rides in Fantasyland, Mom & Dad couldn't handle it anymore, and we headed over to Hollywood Studios and then Epcot. More pics to come from those adventures in a future post. All I have access to at the moment are the photos Tim took on his phone.
Andrew did great the whole time, saying "ooh" and "woah" and clapping at everything, and melting hearts all over town with his sweet smile. Except I did come across this pic on Tim's phone, so I guess he did have one moment of less-than-sweet-ness at some point during our stay!
We must have taken away something he wasn't allowed to play with. That's usually when he breaks out his most pathetic faces.
Day Two was a little less intensive than Day One, but still loaded with fun and activity.
While making our way to Germany in the World Showcase for a lunch of brats & pretzels (yum!), we happened upon a photo opp with Belle and the Beast.
The fun continued into the night on Sunday, when Emma got to hang out for awhile with her good buddies Addison & Cooper, who were in town visiting family.
We have more pictures to share once we get them off of the memory card from the good camera, but we wanted to give you at least a taste of our trip to hold you over. Hopefully we'll have time to make the follow up post soon, with the long holiday weekend coming up. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
